Presidio Graduate School: MBA, MPA, & Dual Degree Programs

Presidio’s graduate programs mark a new brand of higher education, preparing modern leaders with the tools to make an impact on the triple bottom line: people, planet, and profit.

In this free, virtual event, we will be joined by the Presidio VP of Admissions and three of Presidio’s most beloved professors, who will offer us an exclusive window into Presidio’s unique graduate programs and illuminate how the school places climate and social justice at the core of the curriculum. Join us to hear directly from Presidio faculty and experience a set of featured excerpts from the following courses:

  • Cultivating Capacity for Leadership with Professor Erin Burns. This course focuses on leadership as a collaborative process and practice guided by anti-racist, community, and feminist interventions that center justice and honor our interdependence in relationship to each other and the environment. The course will provide opportunities to build and refine leadership skills in service of diverse stakeholders, examining the political and social structures that contribute to our understanding of leadership, including neoliberalism, white supremacy, and patriarchy.
  • Marketing and Communications for Social Impact with Professor Carrie Maultsby-Lute. This foundational course explores how organizations can thrive in a rapidly evolving marketing communications landscape, using parallel coursework and a semester-long experiential learning project to emphasize practicable solutions. Students will partner with an external organization to put classroom concepts into immediate practice: building a strategic marketing plan, analyzing social forces and economic context, interpreting customer position, and applying key communication frameworks and tools. By the end of the semester, students will develop and present a set of recommendations to affect an immediate impact at their partner organization.
  • Systems, Sustainability, and Social Justice with Professor Marsha Willard. This first-term course helps students understand the context within which business and government operate and challenges them to identify what is unsustainable about our current practices, policies, and mental models. The context of this class includes a deep dive into current events and trends in public policy, examining the myriad of complex social, environmental, and economic issues facing our societies.
